On Education of Contemporary University Students' Concept of Socialist Honor and Disgrace

胡锦涛总书记提出的以"八荣八耻"为核心的社会主义荣辱观,是对中华民族历久弥新的民族精神和传统美德的提炼和升华,具有很强的时代性和针对性。我们应该把大学生的社会主义荣辱观教育同加强和改进大学生思想政治教育结合起来,把诚实守信作为学生的自觉行为和基本的道德情感,充分发挥高校教师在荣辱观教育中的重要作用,坚持把社会主义荣辱观教育与创建优良校风学风为重点的校园文化建设和构建和谐校园结合起来,在实践中践行社会主义荣辱观。

President Hu Jintao put forward the concept of socialist honor and disgrace whose core are 'Eight Honors & Eight Disgraces' which are extract and sublimation of the enduring source of national spirit and traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, having very strong epochal and pertinent character. We should combine education of university students' concept of socialistic honor and disgrace and education in strengthening and improving their ideology and politics. Honesty and credit should be regarded as students' conscious behavior and basic moral feeling. University teachers should play an important role in carrying out moral education. We adhere to the concept of socialist honor and disgrace, focusing on the construction of campus culture whose keys are to create excellent school spirit and style of study and the construction of a harmonious campus to apply the concept of socialist honor and disgrace into practice.
