The Endless Sorrow in My Heart——Huang Yuanjie

黄媛介生于书香门第,虽遭遇战火纷飞,但不趋炎附势,嫁于落第秀才杨世功。与传统女性恪守闺范不同,她走出闺阁,或卖文鬻画,或为大家闺秀塾师,自谋生计,自食其力,终其一生游离于宫闺与青楼两大才女群体之间。在她身上体现出了较多与传统女性不同的叛逆与洒脱,是新的女性意识在传统女子身上的萌芽。撰文欲探究其悲凉多舛的人生遭遇和出色的诗文才华。

Born in the scholarly family, brought up in wars, not fawning upon the bigwigs, Huang Yuanjie married Yang Shigong, a scholar who failed the imperial examination at the county level. Different from traditional women who observed norms expected of women, Huang Yuanjie walked out of the boudoir, and began to make a living all by herself independently by writing and drawing, or as a private teacher for girls from noble families. Throughout her life she had been keeping contact with talented ladies from Palaces and brothels. Being rebelling, natural and unrestrained, different from the traditional female, she started the new female consciousness bud in a traditional woman. This thesis aims to explore her literary talent and the misfortunes she encountered in life.
