Based on Darwin' theory of evojution,memetics is a new-born theory with regard to reavealing the law of evolution and transmission of human being's cultures.Taking translation itself and the concepts and ideas about translation theory as its objects,translation memetics delimits the evolution of translation theories as the result of the continuous replication and transmission of translation memes.By introduction of the definition of translation,the bondary of translation and non-translation and the relationship between translation norms and translation in the perspective of translation memetics,the article attempts to stress the importance of translation theory and entail the great contributions translation memetics makes to translation norm theory.
