The article discusses the possible conjunction of English grammar teaching and modern communicative teaching method.The author believes that more attention should be paid to the authentic use of the language,especially to the difference between written English and its spoken variaties.It aims at raising the relevence of grammar teaching to the development of students' ability of language output,rather than simply smuggling more activities into grammar class.
