摘要 "Passion as Defense" is one of the most profound themes in Yeats'later poems,Yeats' theory of passion as defense essentially suggests the emotional commitment to make life habitable in a disastrous world.Yeats in this sense employs passion to contend against pathos.With the victory over the tragedy of being,Yeats display the heroic quality as poet and man.
