翻译本质中译者的体现和意义

The Manifestation and Significance of Translator in Essence of Translation

由于早期翻译理论长期没有关注译者在翻译实践中的作用,导致对翻译本质的认识也往往没有注意到这个最关键的因素。运用辩证唯物主义的一些基本观点对翻译进行分析,发现翻译不仅是从一套符号系统向另一套符号系统的"意义"转换,而且翻译是译者在特定社会、历史条件下能动的实践活动,译者表现出能动性和受动性,这两者在具体的翻译实践基础上统一。

As there are not many theories about translator in early translation studies, the researches on essence of translation tend to ignore the significance of translator. From the prospect of dialectical materialism, the major found of this study is that translation is not only transferring the meaning from one set of semiotic system to another, but also containing the active practice of translator under certain social and historical conditions. During this process, translator shows his activity and passivity which are based on the translation practice.
