Longinus's On the Sublime holds a uniquely unparalleled position in Western critical theories. By analyzing Li Bai's well-known poem Cataract on Mount Lu from the perspective of sublimity, attempt is made to appreciate the ancient Chinese poems by using Western critical theory and thus derive another kind of aesthetic beauty.
