Hedges,as one important member of fuzzy language family,are widely applied in the communication.In the process of interaction,language user continuously makes choice of hedges to achieve his communicative goals and intentions.It analyses the communicative functions of the hedges in the speech from the perspective of conversational implicature and cooperative principle,and probes into the use of hedges in the speech for the sake of improving communication ability to better perform in the communication with different intentions.
