摘要
This paper is a corpus-driven study on the semantic prosody of DOG within English and Chinese culture through comparison of the Freiburg-LOB Corpus of British(FLOB) and the Lancaster Corpus of Mandarin Chinese(LCMC).It examines the overall distributions and frequencies of DOG with positive,negative,and neutral prosodies.The results reveal the semantic prosody of DOG both in British culture and Chinese culture,as well as the differences between them.
