自译实践对译者的启示——以余光中诗歌自译为例

On Auto-translation—A Case Study of Yu Guangzhong's Poetry Translation

自译现象是一种特殊的翻译现象,在自译过程中,译者、作者和读者的身份合而为一,产生的译作既具有其他翻译作品的共性,也显示了自译作品的特殊之处。通过对余光中诗歌自译进行剖析,采用个案研究的方法,从宏观和微观层面探讨其自译作品的特点,得出三点结论,即自译实践是译者翻译思想的具体体现,译者身份的特殊性决定了译文的充分性,翻译策略较为灵活。

Auto-translation,or self-translation,is a special type of translation.In this process,the combination of translator,author and reader leads to a translation product partaking of both the common features of translation and its uniqueness.Through a case study of Yu Guangzhong's auto-translation of poetry,from a macro as well as a micro level,three conclusions can be reached,namely,auto-translation is a reflection of the translator's own ideology,optimal equivalence can be reached because of the special identity of the translator,and the translation methods are flexible.
