摘要
Interpreting has been known as and proven a stressful job.This paper introduces the phenomena and symptoms of psychological stress that often,if not always,occur in the profession of interpreting.It then pinpoints the factors that expose interpreters to stress,which include biological factors,environmental factors,cognitive factors and personality factors.At last,practical stress management strategies are proposed,namely to improve the comfort level of the physical working environment for interpreters,to improve their physical fitness,to increase support and cooperation from concerned parties,and finally to rethink,relax and release stress.
