英语阅读教材需求分析——以《研究生英语精读》为例

Need Analysis on English Reading Materials—A Case Study of English for Graduate Students

由于非英语专业研究生要经常阅读大量国外文献和相关论文,所以培养他们阅读能力的教材应当引起英语教学研究者的重视。该文以中南大学非英语专业研究生英语教材——《研究生英语精读》为例,系统分析了该教材的可取之处以及亟待改进的地方,旨在编写更为有效的英语阅读教材,从而满足研究生的学习需求。研究首先采用了问卷法和访谈法,接着对研究数据进行了汇总与分析,最后对教材内容、教材安排、单词习得以及课后练习四个方面给出了相关的改进建议。

As Non-English major post-graduates often read plenty of literature in their area in English,the materials that aims to promote their reading competence should be put into the spotlight by researchers.This paper exemplified English for Graduate Students,a Non-English Major post-graduates' coursebook adopted by the Central South University,and analyzed its merits and demerits systematically.Appraisal tools such as questionnaires and interviews were used in the study.After a careful analysis of material content,arrangement,vocabulary and practice,some ideas for material adaptation were then put forward.
