Resting on the top of the pyramid of translation,the translation of poems has long been the center of both attention and argu ment.Through a great many years of translation practice,the renowned translator Xu Yuanchong has developed a set of unique ideology and technique of Chinese traditional poem translation.Many of his translation works serve as classic prototypes for recreating beauty in po em translation.This paper sets out to analyze on different layers the poem translation of Xu,with the purpose of probing the process of rec reating beauty in poem translation.
