摘要
菲茨杰拉德是20世纪著名的小说家之一,在其代表作《了不起的盖茨比》中,他向我们讲述了一个脍炙人口的故事。读者往往会被故事的主人公杰伊·盖茨比所吸引,这就是小说人物刻画的成功之处。通过运用里门·凯南的叙述学理论,该文从习惯性动作,环境以及类比三个角度来分析小说的人物刻画,进而揭示小说人物的独特性。
F·Scott Fitzgerald, one of the greatest novelists in the 20th century, has presented us a great story in his masterpiece The Great Gatsby. After reading the novel, one may feel deeply impressed by the protagonist, Jay Gatsby. That's the success of the characterization of the novel. By using the narrative theory of Rimmon-Kenan, this paper is going to analyze its characterization from the perspective of habitual actions, environment and analogy, to reveal the uniqueness of the characters in the novel.
