Gimpel the Fool is a short fiction by Isaac Bashevis Singer and was translated into English by Saul Bellow in 1953.Through an overview of Gimpel Fool and its writing background,it seizes the embedded distinctive Jewish themes,and from the perspective of religious ethics to pay a tribute to Gimpel and the whole Jewish people,who,precisely because of their patience and'still water of running deep'to lead a'returning good for evil'life,can survive among collisions of different cultures.
