English movies have authentic oral expression, authentic language environment and rich cultural connotations. Appreciating English movies can not only make one learn the language knowledge, but also have access to cultural knowledge. Language is the carrier of culture. Learning a language is a process of access to culture. English movies can effectively develop the students'English oral communicative competence and thus making teachers achieve the ultimate goal of English teaching.
