Material evaluation plays an important role in teachers’usage of course book. The paper, based on the studies of materials research home and abroad, constructs analysis and evaluation on the advantages and disadvantages of textbooks'Advance with English', which published by YiLin Press. The paper finds the advantages of the textbooks are as following: The textbooks are organized progressive and systematic; The contents of the textbooks are extensive and reflect the social development; The textbooks embody advanced concepts and methods. The paper also points out disadvantages existing in the textbook:The contents excessively focus on urban life and neglect the students in rural areas; The teaching tasks are too heavy to carry out; The supporting materials are so simple that need perfecting.
