By analyzing the phenomenon of mistranslations,this essay manifests that the communication effect of two different languages,to a large extent,depends on how well the cultural context and social factors are understood by the translators or inter preters.Only by this way can the communicators present their works in appropriate expressions that the English or Chinese na tive speakers feel comfortable with and easy to understand.
