从林语堂翻译标准看其《浮生六记》的翻译

Analysis of Lin Yutang's Translation of Six Chapters of a Floating Life from His Translation Thoughts

林语堂先生在《论翻译》一文中提出了翻译工作"忠实、通顺、美"的标准,而其翻译清代文人沈复的《浮生六记》,选词生动准确,句式灵活通顺,行文流畅优雅,是其翻译理论的绝佳体现。该文就"忠实、通顺、美"三个方面评价了这部代表其翻译成就的译作,并从正反两方面,分别指出了译文的成功之处与不足。以期能为林译研究及翻译批评作出贡献。

@@@@In his article of On Translation, Dr. Lin proposed three standards for translation, namely, fidelity, coherence and beau?ty. While his translation work of Six Chapters of a Floating Life is the best reflection of his translation theory. This paper mainly discussed this well-known translation work both positively and negatively from the above three aspects-fidelity, coherence and beauty, aiming at making some contribution to the study of Lin’s translation and to apply his translation theory into our transla?tion practice.
