A Congitive Study of New Expressions Come Out of Old Ones

语言中的创新并不是凭空产生的,很多都是在新旧概念之间建立延续性的通道,从而对人类知识进行有效的扩张。该文就伦敦奥运会之后兴起的一些新词如"杨名立万"、"杨眉吐气"、"一叶成名"、"Yes,Win!"以及现在新闻和日常生活中常见的新被字句"被结婚"、"被病故"等语言现象,试着从认知的角度对这些现象进行分析,说明了隐性表述如何作用于显性表述从而达到相对完备的表述,以及这些表达体现了使用者的意向性。

New expressions in language are not without foundation,most of them have some relations with the old ones. By creating new ones out of the old ones, we can enlarge the vocabulary as well as our knowledge. This paper talks about phenomenon of new expressions come out of the old ones, such as the new expressions come out after the London Olympic Games,'杨名立万'、'杨眉吐气'、'一叶成名'、'yes,win',and the new 被 expressions such as'被结婚'、'被病故'. It trys to analyse this phenomenon from the perspective of cognitive linguistics,and shows how the implicature function on the literal meaning so that to get the relatively perfect understanding. Also, this phenomenon shows the intentionality of the language users.
