Interlanguage (IL) research is one of the important elements of Second Language Acquisition(SLA). It is quite meaningful for figuring out the learners’SLA process and rules, and can be instructive for foreign language teaching as well. This paper aims to introduce the main ideas concerning IL, and point out the significance and limits of the present IL researches.
