模糊限制语的顺应性研究——以美国总统在中国大学发表演说为例

Analysis of Adaptability of Hedges in American Presidents’Speeches in Chinese Universities

模糊限制语是一种交际策略,它表明命题的观点而非事实,时常与可能性及不确定性相关。近年来学者们对模糊限制语进行了语义或是语用等角度的研究。基于前人的研究,笔者试图利用顺应理论对四位美国总统在中国发表的演说中的模糊限制语进行阐释。研究表明:四位美国总统在演说中都使用了大量的模糊限制语以顺应相关语境因素。

Hedges are communicative strategies. It presents a proposition as an opinion instead of a fact, often in terms of possibili?ty and uncertainty. Recently, many researches have been conducted on hedges from semantic or pragmatic perspectives,based on which we aim to study hedges in American president’s speeches in Chinese Universities. It shows that four American presidents use many hedges to adapt to contextual factors.
