On Composition of the Typical Modified Deixis in Legal Context and Their Pragmatic Functions

法律英语中存在着非其独有但具有典型特征的修饰性指示语结构。在此类结构中,指示功能由修饰语来担任。因此,修饰语的构成是在本文所论述的重点。为此,该文列举了法律英语中的修饰性指示语,并分析修饰语的结构。在此基础上,该文结合语言环境揭示此类修饰性指示语的一些语用功能,并且进一步说明此类修饰性指示语为何比较契合法律语言表达上的需求。

Some modified deixis, though not unique in legal English, are commonly used in legal Context. In such structure, just the modifiers perform the deictic function. Therefore, composition of such modifiers is the key point to be discussed in this paper. Then some typical modified deixis are listed herein and the structure of such modifiers is analyzed in this paper. On the basis of such discussion and analysis and in view of legal context, some pragmatic functions are disclosed herein;furthermore, the reason why such modified deixis can meet some demands of the legal context is also expounded in this paper.
