An Analysis of Subtitle translation in Situation Comedy Friends from Skopos Theory Perspective

随着国外影视剧的引进,影视字幕翻译逐渐受到关注。影视字幕翻译属于文学翻译的一个分支,它既有和文学翻译的一些共同特性,也有自己的特点。翻译目的论是从译文视角进行翻译研究的一种解构主义理论模式,它以译文功能为取向,注重翻译的实用性。该文以热播经典美剧《老友记》为例,结合影视翻译特点和情景喜剧翻译的独特性,从目的论视角探讨影视字幕翻译的相关策略。

With the introduction foreign films and televisions, subtitle translation gradually draws researcher’s attention. Subtitle translation belongs to a branch of literary translation. It has some common features with literary translation, and also has its unique quality. The skopo theory is a mode of deconstruction theory from perspective of translated text. It pay more attention on practicability relies on the function of the translated text. This thesis take popular classic TV drama Friends as an example, combining with characteristics of film translation and uniqueness of sitcom translation, from the perspective of skopos theory to discuss subtitle translation strategies.
