Comparative Analysis on Poem Spring and its English Versions from Theme-Rheme Theory

主述位理论是系统功能语言学的重要理论之一。该文以该理论为指导,对唐诗《春晓》及其五个英译本进行了尝试性的对比分析。通过分析结果可以看出,主述位理论为诗歌英译的赏析提供一个新的视角。同时,该文的分析也证明了主述位理论在诗歌翻译分析中的可操作性和可应用性,是唐诗英译研究与实践的重要语言学工具。

Based on Theme-Rheme theory, an important theory of Systemic Functional Linguistics, this paper is an attempt to ana?lyze the poem Chun Xiao and its English versions. The analyses show that Theme-Rheme theory provides the Chinese-English po?etic translation appreciation with a new angle. And it also proves the applicability of Theme-Rheme theory in poetic analysis, so it is an important linguistic instrument which can be applied to the research and practice of poetic translation.
