《春望》各英译中格律形式的体现

On the Embodiment of Metrical Form in English Translations of Chun Wang

诗歌翻译是弘扬中国传统文明的重要途径之一。然而,汉诗,特别是近体诗独特的格律形式往往使翻译陷入困境。如何保持原诗铿锵的节奏、和谐的韵律等成为诗译家们的重要课题。作为近体诗的代表作之一,《春望》各译文在样式、节奏与押韵等层面对原诗的再现程度的研究对诗歌翻译中的格律形式探讨具有一定的指导作用。为保持《春望》样式的一致性,译文可采取的方法有音节缩略、句型转换法等;节奏上通过调序、换字、缩略等保持诗歌抑扬跌宕,铿锵有力;而在用韵方面则可采取调整词序、换用同义词、词义补充等方式再现原诗韵味。

Poetry Translation is one of the most essential ways to transmit traditional Chinese culture. Chinese poetry’s, especially modern style poetry’s unique metrical form tends to put its translation into trouble and it is essential to maintain the sonorous and harmonious rhythm of the original poem. By comparing style, rhythm and rhyme of four English translation versions of Du Fu’s Chun Wang, typical example of modern-style poetry, the embodiment of metrical form in poetry translation can be better studied. In order to realize the consistency in style, such techniques as syllables abbreviation and information transference are applied in the translation. Similarly, the effect of rhythm is reproduced by reordering, substitution and abbreviation. Moreover, by ways of reordering, extension and substitution, the aesthetics in rhyming is retained.
