摘要
Compared with other macro-skills,there are fewer insights about the process of listening and the way it is learnt.Although listening skill plays a significant role in language learning and communication,researchers devoted most attention to language learning strategies involved in reading,speaking and writing.Therefore,knowledge about listening strategies is still limited.This paper will focus on listening strategies for high school English exams in China.Firstly,it shows the background of listening tests in China and teaching procedures of listening in my school.Secondly,the paper discusses the process and the impact of explicit strategy instruction.Then,the article will introduce the definition and previous application of metacognitive strategies in second language(L2) listening.After that,I will employ metacognitive strategies to modify the teaching practice in detail by instructing students to follow these three steps,planning,monitoring and evaluating.At last,the paper concludes with the limitations of the article and the orientation for further study.
