英语新闻标题用词丰富多彩。从USA Today以及China Daily网站获取语料,建立英语新闻标题的语料库,来分析这些用词特点:多使用小词、缩略词及复合词;频繁使用新词和外来词;俚语、省略、借代等大量涌现。从而为新闻标题的翻译提出建议。
The vocabulary in English news headlines is rich and colorful.Based on the USA Today and China Daily websites,it established a corpus of English news headlines which can be used to illustrate lexical features:more use of midget words,acronyms and compound words;the frequent appearance of coinages and loaned words;the emergence of slangs,omissions and metonymy.Hence,it gives some implications to English news headlines'translation.
