As a hot topic in modernist literature,gender ideology has aroused great interest in interpreting literary works from a new perspective. The thesis is a systematic research into the gender ideology of Scott Fitzgerald's masterpiece The Great Gatsby. It presents Fitzgerald's gender ambivalence and the reason why he commits it through Nick's relationship with Mr. McKee,Jordan Baker,and Gatsby.
