摘要
为了完善幼儿英语教学,该文以实证研究方式检验幼儿刻意词汇习得和附带词汇习得的效果。山东某幼儿园两个自然班的40名幼儿参与了实验,被分配不同的两项任务:观看原版英文动画片(附带词汇习得组)和接受图片指称教学(刻意词汇学习组)。结果显示,从短时记忆来看,刻意学习和附带习得两组之间并未达到显著性差异;从长时记忆来看,附带习得显著优于刻意学习。据此,建议可利用原版英文动画片开展幼儿英语教学,充分发挥附带词汇习得的作用。
To promote child English teaching, the present paper makes an empirical study to test the effects of incidental vocabu-lary acquisition and intentional vocabulary learning on children. Two intact classes from a Shandong kindergarten with equivalent English proficiency were assigned to perform two different tasks: watching an authentic English cartoon (Incidental Vocabulary Acquisition Group) and being taught picture referential meaning (Intentional Vocabulary Learning Group). It has been found that there does not exist any significant difference between the two groups in vocabulary learning in the short term, while incidental acquisition significantly facilitates vocabulary retention compared with intentional learning in the long term. Thus, it is suggested that authentic English cartoons should be used in child English teaching to bring into full play the role of incidental vocabulary ac-quisition.
