多元智能理论和大学英语课堂教学活动研究

Multiple Intelligences and College English Teaching

长期以来我国的学校教育注重语言智能和逻辑数学智能的培养,这种教学模式压抑了学生的个性和创造力。1983年由美国哈佛大学Howard Gardner教授提出的"多元智能理论"在世界范围内对教育和教育改革的理论和实践产生了积极广泛的影响。多元智能理论所推崇的智能多元化、个性化和情景化的教学理念与大学英语课程教学要求在理念上也是不谋而合的。该文将从多元智能理论的内涵出发,联系学习者的个性化学习风格,探讨几种融和多元智能和现代外语教学理论的教学方法,抛砖引玉,希望能和广大大学英语教师共同探讨能提高学生英语综合水平的教学技巧和教学活动。

Howard Gardner’work around Multiple Intelligences has had a profound impact on thinking and practice in educa-tion worldwide. Multiple Intelligences’advocacy of individualized and learner-centered learning has changed greatly the tradi-tional ways in teaching and learning. In this article, the authors attempt to articulate several teaching techniques and activities which have incorporated the study of multiple intelligences, learning styles and other language learning approaches, hoping to gain more understanding in English teaching and learning.
