The paper discusses learner autonomy and its importance in foreign language learning. While human beings are born with a tendency to autonomy, the traditional textbooks and teaching methods hold back the depth, speed and extent of the learn?ers. With it, learners may use this in-born tendency, plus the help from teachers and other learners, to improve the quality of for?eign language education.
