《五号屠场》是美国幽默大师库尔特·冯内古特的一部著名的反战小说,在美国文学史上占据重要地位。该文运用列斐伏尔及爱德华W.苏贾的空间批评理论,从主人公的家、报社和书店、狮子俱乐部、精神病院五个空间意象解读《五号屠场》中空间背后的社会历史文化意义,展现在物理空间背后的深层隐喻,透视后现代民众的生存困境以期寻找出路。

Slaughterhouse-five, which is a well-known novel written by American famous writer Kurt Vonnegut, plays an important role in the American literary history. Under the guidance of spatial criticism theory of Henry Lefebvre and Edward W.soya, The thesis is to analyze the spatial metaphors through the five spatial images including home of the protagonist, newspaper office and bookstore, lion club and mental institution in order to expose the social historical and cultural significance of space and reveal living predicament of postmodern society in a hope of finding the way-out.
