In China, English teachers have more choices to select teaching materials for their students. In the teaching of English, there are several main sets of textbooks available for non-majors of English. These textbooks are compiled based on China's National Syllabus of College English. In order to learn these materials better, both teachers and students should know how to use and develop the teaching materials. In the essay, the book of"College English"will be used to explain the ways to develop teaching materials. As teachers and learners, textbooks are so important that every teacher and learner should choose the best and the most suitable one for their learning.
