Research on Optimization of English Teachers' Knowledge and Ability's Structure in Engineering Colleges

大学英语教学的成败取决于英语教师的知识和能力。因此,英语教师要通过强化师德修养、扎实英汉基本语言功底、提高常规教学能力、提升科学研究意识、扩大知识面,加强跨学科知识的学习和积累等方式来提高自己的能力,这样才能更好地适应英语教学改革的需要,适应社会对复合型人才培养的需要。

Whether college English teaching can be successful or not depends on English teachers' knowledge and abilities. Therefore, English teachers need to improve their aiblities by ways of strengthening their professional ethics, making a good foundation on language skills of both English and Chinese, improving their regular teaching ability, raising their awareness of scientific research, broadening their knowledge, accumulating trans-disciplinary knowledge so that they can meet the needs of English teaching reform and of the society's needs of talents with multiple abilities.
