摘要
该文以言语幽默概论及其延伸理论为理论基础,以《儒林外史》第三回及其两个英译本为研究语料,重点探讨修辞手段的翻译对译文中脚本对立保留的影响。通过对比发现,杨译忠实于原文形式与内容,修辞手段与幽默效果大多得到保留;王译则更加顺畅,但幽默效果丢失处更多。
Taking the General Theory of Verbal Humor and its Extended Theory as its theoretical foundation, this paper at-tempts to investigate humor translation in the third chapter of Ru Lin Wai Shi. Our analysis indicates that Yang’s version is more faithful to the source text and the humorous effects are mostly reserved, while Wang ’s version is smoother with a few humorous spots being lost.
