摘要 As one of the most well-known novels of Charles Dickens,it is difficult to define one single specific genre for Great Expectations.It is widely recognized as a bildungsroman and realistic fiction and social criticism.In addition to all these genres,we can also identify many intriguing features of Gothic novel.This paper is devoted to interpreting the Gothic characteristics of GreatExpectations,and particularly,settings characters,and the narration of the novel are the major focuses of analysis.
