摘要
作为六大语义词汇关系之一的同义词一直是英语研究与教学活动的重点之一,英语教师都希望通过同义词教学来提高学生的英语综合技能,词汇的意义很大程度上是由词汇之间的关系来定义的。该文介绍了一些关于同义词的基本知识,以便于进一步的研究,同时还谈及到了母语迁移对同义词教学的影响,并分析了其在同义词教学中的重要作用。该文共提出两个假设:(1)语义关系中的同义词教学和扩大学习者的词汇量直接有密切的关系,教师在同义词教学中可采取多种有效的措施;(2)在同义词教学中应该首先考虑母语迁移问题,这是为了避免同义词学习中问题的一种有效手段。
Synonym, as one of the six semantic lexical relationships has always been one of the main focuses of English learning and teaching. Learning vocabulary is the basic means to learn a language and the prerequisite of using language. The meaning of a word mostly depends on the relationship between different words. In this thesis, general knowledge on synonyms, including the semantic definitions of synonyms, sources, classification and functions of synonyms, is introduced in order to have a critical view on synonym discrimination by linguistic scholars for the benefit of further study. The author also analyzes the influences of trans-fer of mother tongue, which plays an important part in the synonyms learning. Two hypotheses are proposed as follows:( 1)There is a close relationship between synonyms teaching and enlarging learners’vocabulary. Many effective measures can be taken in the synonyms teaching;(2)Transfer of mother tongue should be given priorities in synonym teaching and learning in order to avoid petrifaction.
