摘要
新闻标题作为一种浓缩性的语言,简洁、准确、抢眼,具有很强的信息功能和美感功能。运用修辞便是使标题妙趣横生的重要手段。该文以自建语料库为基础,以调查问卷实证考察的方式分析了新闻标题的修辞使用及其对读者的吸引力影响,以期能为新闻撰稿者拟题提供参考并为英语学习者整体理解英语新闻提供帮助。
As a kind of condensed language, conciseness, accuracy and attractiveness are the characteristics of news headlines, which can have a strong information function and aesthetic function on the whole news. Using rhetorics is an important means of giving zest to the headlines. This paper, based on self-built corpus, in the form of questionnaire, empirically analyses the rhetorical use of news headlines and the corresponding effects on the readers’appeal, which aims to provide the news writers with writing references and to offer English learners some advice for better understand the English news.
