摘要
Discourse coherence has been paid much attention since 1960 s. With the development of cognitive linguistics and cognitive science,the research of discourse coherence from cognitive perspective has obtained extraordinary results. Metaphor and metonymy in cognitive linguistics has been used to explain discourse coherence. This paper first gives a literature review of discourse coherence from cognitive perspective,then special attention has been paid to discourse coherence and metaphor and metonymy from cognitive level.
