The semantic meaning of Obama's president election victory speech—Change Has Come To American is clear and the speech itself is a masterpiece. This paper tries to study the textual features of it and get a general knowledge of political speech. The thesis makes an analysis of the speech from the perspective of metafunction,finding out that the speech has its unique properties of text in terms of experiential function(transitivity),interpersonal function(mood,modality and personal pronoun)and textual function(thematic structure and cohesion).
