Reform and Solutions: Test-taking Skills and Problem-solving Strategies for the New Type of CET4 —A Case Study of Paragraph Translation in CET4

在大学英语四、六级考试改革背景下,四级考试翻译部分由原来的单句汉译英调整为段落汉译英,本次改革对考生英语语言表达能力提出了更高层次的要求。该文章从大学英语四级考试(以下简称CET4)新题型段落翻译的变化及命题要求谈起,对目前两次新题型考试翻译真题进行分析,对CET4翻译部分的应试技巧进行探索,并提出具体解题策略,旨在帮助广大考生清楚地了解新题型段落翻译,并做好相应的应试准备。

Under the background of CET4 & 6 reform, the translation part changes from C-E translation of the whole sentence to C-E translation of the whole paragraph or paragraphs. Thus, this reform makes a higher level of requirements for the examinees' English expressing skills. Starting with the changes and requirements of the new type of paragraph translation in CET4, this paper analyzes the reformed translation in these two years, studies the test-taking skills for the new type of translation and summarizes the problem-solving strategies accordingly. Its main purpose is to make examinees of CET4 know more clearly about the new type of paragraph translation and prepare well in their learning.
