The Korean Drama, Jewel in the Palace, introduced how Jang-Geum, as a eastern woman, overcame a series of social discrimination, how she surmounted numerous difficulties and dangers, how she got rid of the common prejudice to the feminist.Finally she became the first woman to be the supreme royal physician of her times. She obtained a space for herself as a low class girl in the male dominated society. The thesis attempts to approach it from a feminist perspective to throw a new light on the study of the text.
