Exploring the Means of Translating Chinese Sentences into English Passive Sentences Based on Analysis of the Differences of the Two Languages

英语和汉语由于属于不同的语系和语言形态,因此在句法上差异悬殊。该文在分析英语和汉语在使用被动语态上的差别的基础上,选用了高中教学中常用的例句,探讨了将汉语译成英语被动句的四种方法:主动句译为被动句、无主句译为被动句、判断句译为被动句和被动句译为被动句。

English and Chinese belong to different language families and are of different language typologies. So there exist greatdifferences in the sentence structures of the two languages. Based on a detailed analysis of the characteristics of English and Chi-nese passive sentences, the paper explores four different means of translating Chinese into English passive sentences: translatingChinese active sentences, zero-subject sentences, judging sentences and passive sentences into English passive sentences.
