摘要
文学作品翻译不仅要做到对源文本的深刻理解与译文的贴切表达,还要遵循风格对等的标准。为了再现源文本固有的文学性,《在亚当之前》廖美珍译本基于这部小说的文学风格重塑人物形象,用形象化的语言向译文读者展示画面情节;就词语层面来说,译者充分运用省略这一翻译技巧,对大量冠词、代词、介词及连词进行省译处理,使杰克·伦敦洗炼的语言风格得以再现。
Aside from in-depth understanding and felicitous wording, literary translation also requires translators to achieve equiv-alence of style. Thus in Liao Meizhen's translation of Before Adam, he adopts the same modes as Jack London's to remold charac-ters and depict settings and plots with visual language. Liao makes full use of omission to dispense with numerous articles, pro-nouns, prepositions and conjunctions in translation to help reflect the refined language featuring Jack London's works.
