形合与意合视角下英汉习语的对比分析

The Contrastive Analysis of English and Chinese Idioms from the Perspective of Hypotaxis and Parataxis

形合与意合特征是英汉语言对比中最明显的一个不同。浓缩语言中的精华的习语,恰恰体现了英语的形合和汉语的意合特征。该文从形合与意合角度着手,对比分析了英汉习语分别在连接词、介词和介词短语、句式的使用等方面的不同。但是在分析过程中,本文也发现了并非所有的英语习语都体现出形合特征,汉语习语都体现出意合特征。

Hypotaxis and parataxis is the most distinctive feature in the contrast between English and Chinese language. Idioms,the essence of language, are just a type reflecting the distinction of characteristics between the two language. This paper contrastsand analyses the differences of idioms between the two languages respectively in three aspects of the existence of conjunction, ofpreposition and preposition phrase and from sentence patterns. But some parataxis sentences in English idioms and some hypotaxissentence in Chinese sentences are found in the study.
