摘要
颜色词在中英两种语言中都占有非常重要的地位,虽然这两种语言环境中的人们对颜色词的感知存在共性,但由于中英文化和历史背景等因素存在较大差异,颜色词也被赋予了许多不同的联想与内涵。该文将通过举例的方法对中英颜色词的内涵意义进行对比分析并解读存在差异的原因,最后提出中英颜色词翻译的方法。
Color words occupy a very important position both in Chinese and in English.Although people of these two language sys-tems may have same feelings towards some color words,different associative and connotative meanings have been given to the colorwords due to several factors like different culture and history background.The method of case study will be used in this paper tomake a comparison between the connotative meanings of color words in Chinese and English and then to analyze the causes of thedifferences between their connotative meanings.At last,the method of translation of color words between Chinese and English willbe put forward.
