The Comparison between two English translation versions of A Shepherdess

中国典籍外译有利于扩大中国的影响力,提高中国的软实力。《诗经》是我国最早的诗歌总集,在国内外有众多翻译版本。《邶风·静女》选自《诗经》,是一首情诗,它的翻译引起了很大关注。以翻译中基本的忠实和通顺为标准,同时运用回译的手段分析《邶风·静女》英译的两个版本,指出两个版本的优点和不足,旨在为典籍英译的工作提供一点借鉴。

Translation of Chinese Masterpiece is helpful to increase China's influence and soft power. Book of Poetry is the earliestpoem in China, which has been translated by many people at home and abroad. A Shepherdess is a romance poem in Book of Poetry,whose translation drew much attention. Two translation versions of A Shepherdess are analyzed using back translation from the per-spective of faithfulness and expressiveness, thus their advantages and shortcoming are pointed out. It is for the purpose of providingsome experience for English Translation of Chinese Masterpiece.
