Willa Cather is one of the most famous female writers in the 20 thcentury. She has criticized a series of modern ideologiesin most of her works. This essay attempts to study her rebellion against the modern ideologies such as'industrialism','in opposi-tion to nature and anthropocentrism','standardized','compartmentalize and contempt for indigenous peoples'as well as'hy-per-masculine'in one of her later works Death Comes for the Archbishop. At the same time, the harmonious values and ideas advo-cated by her would also be discussed.
