摘要
语言文字是文化的载体,是不同国家和民族人群进行物质生产、社会活动的独特反应。语际之间必然存在可译性,而可译性又受到来自语言和文化等因素的制约。不过,不可译之处可以通过各种翻译策略或手段加以变通,从而达到交流的最终目的。该文以《时尚与文化研究》(Fashion and Culture Studies)为例研究翻译中的可译性及其限度问题,以期对服饰翻译提供指导借鉴。
Language is not only the carrier of human culture, but also the unique reflection of material production and social activi?ty of different countries and nations. Translatability exists between languages, but it is limited by linguistic and cultural factors, which is named as“limitation of translatability”. However, untranslatability can be solved by flexible translation strategies to en?sure smooth communication. Fashion and Culture Studies offers a lot of examples about the translatability and the limitation of translatability, which is hopeful to provide some guidance to the fashion translation.
